Hello, I’m Simon. I grew up in London.  Like most illustrators, I’ve been drawing and painting since I can remember.  My work has a certain flavour which allows me a lot of wiggle room to explore!

I got my first taste of commercial illustration working as a graphic designer after I packed my bags for Sydney, Australia, straight out of college. I had been using an airbrush for a few years already so jump at the request to get the frisket out. That lead to more illustration in my next job back in London doing packaging elements and cd covers and my first memory of an Apple Mac, so basic by todays standards. The owner of the company was very hands on and also an illustrator and I learnt a lot from him, being a great airbrush artist himself. But after 2 years I had the urge to try something and somewhere new.

I ended up in Dubai for 10 years and this is where I first went freelance as an illustrator.  All of the big agencies have an office in Dubai and I had the fortune to work with most of them and on some big campaigns, ranging from packaging illustration, product marketing in print and online, annual reports and website support illustrations.  

Some of the companies that have used my illustrations include Emirates Airlines Global, Unilever, Colgate, British American Tobacco, BMW, Land Rover, Big Bus Company, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Simon & Schuster Australia.

These days I’m located in Amsterdam with my partner and 2 dogs and still working as full time illustrator.
